This surge protector with remote switch and some always on sockets might be just the thing for some cabs.

interesting currently using sears auto switch , i power up my pc and it powers on everything else, and when shutting down the pc / windows on exit the monitor / and marquee also turn off not bad for the price at 19.99 http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00924031000P

The description on that Sears site really doesn't tell you how the hell that product works.  is it just a Smart Strip where you turn on the one device and the rest turn on automatically?  Don't know why they couldn't just say that.

it's the same thing as a smart strip and works great
