Title: £850 for a twin Daytona USA - too much?
Post by: drawfull on September 04, 2008, 04:02:36 pm
I've no idea what shipping would be, but bearing in mind UK prices, is this too much?

I don't know what the UK market is like, but I know that in the USA, these usually fetch $750-1200 in poor to fair shape and $1000-2500 in fair to good shape.  £850 seems reasonable if it's in decent shape.

Thanks for your help. I'm going to get it i think as long as the shipping quote isn't horrendous.

It's in pretty fair condition from the pictures, a little damage to the top corner of p1's side art. So maybe £850 is a little steep, but well, everything arcade-wise seems expensive here!

very popular game still, the u.k u cabs are superior to the u.s/japan version
the boards working on their own are worth £300 each

these are reasonably easy to recon in the u.k as you have sega and segashed as suppliers

arcade stuff in the u.k is very cheap, you must be looking in the wrong place

I guess maybe I am. I'm not strictly in the UK, which is why shipping is often an issue, but even still I have yet to find a quality source or arcade related stuff anywhere near prices available elsewhere in the world.

Thanks for the heads up on Segashed, hadn't considered them.

I'm going to do it, as long as the shipping comes in at less than £150 give or take. I will know Monday morning, and have told the seller I'm having it. Worst comes to worst I can get a van across and pick it up myself - that will cost me about £200 (boat + fuel)... Good job I've nowhere to put it too ;)

Well, shipping came in at £140+vat.

So, email to seller, "where do I sign?"

Reply... the machine's still 'on site' and will take 'a few weeks' to pull. Why why why can't people be straight up, why list it for sale, why watch me fretting about shipping without telling me there's no rush?? I'm going to wait and still get it, but I wanted it for this weekend!  :dunno
