I have a few questions/problems that I can't seem to figure out, and was hoping someone here could help me out.
1. I think I am going to use myHTPC as my frontend. There is a lot to setup, but it really has the look that I want. However, I do not want clones listed. In fact, I would just as well not have the roms for them. Is there a program, or a way in HTPC, to get rid of clones?
2. There are some games that when I run them, the picture is off to one side a bit. Part of it is even off the screen. (ghouls and ghosts for instance). What causes this and how can I fix it?
Thanks for the help!

My guess: the games are being run at a different "resolution" than your default windows res. By resolution I mean both pixal size and refresh rate. The monitor isn't set for the new resolution correctly, you get the off screen problems like you do.
Most monitors can remember setting for 8-16 different resolutions. So try using the monitors adjustments to center the pciture. Hopfully your monitor has enough space let and doesn't push off your default windows resolution settings.

I don't remember exactly which program I used to separate out my clones, but I think it was RomCenter. You may have to export a list of the originals from RomCenter, then do a big search and replace to create a batch file that moves all your original ZIPs to a new folder if RomCenter won't do it for you. Sounds like a pain but once you've done it once or twice it's quick any easy.
Once you have your originals in one place you can use myGames to generate the .my file for myHTPC.

I had #2 less than a week ago... here is how it is fixed:
Go into MAME.ini
Change your Resolution in Windows video options from auto to whatever your Windows Resolution is. It will center and align all games for you that way...
Good Luck.
