anyone else get it yet? I love it. its like Firefox but better, everything seems to load faster and run better.

It certainly does seem faster but it refused to import my IE favorites on my laptop. No problem importing on my desktop though.

I just read a decent browser review earlier today on CNN for Chrome, the new IE 8, and Firefox.

I'm trying to figure out which one I like better now...they all have pros and cons of course. The CNN guy spells some of them out pretty accurately, IMO.

Seems pretty good but Firefox 3 is so good I don't have any reason to change.

Under the hood Chrome is pretty cool! I like the way they've approached memory handling and process sharing, etc... That a plugin can crash and not take the page or browser with it. That individual tabs can "crash" and not take the rest with it. Excellent! (Does FF3 do any of that?)

The only plugin I use is Wizz RSS. I actually browse BYOAC through it, so given my activity level here, that pretty much proves it 100% stable. ;D

Ive been playing with chrome and its pretty cool. It has a long way to go to supplant Firefox though.
Right now Im using both, I leave my gmail open all day as an application through Chrome, and do my normal browsing with Firefox. If chrome could take plugins (got to have my mouse gestures!) and improve some problems it was giving me with quicktime plugins freezing up the whole browser while they load (separate processes I know, but I couldnt switch between em for several seconds still...) it would be a lot better.
But hey its on its first beta, while firefox is on its third major release.
My real hope, is that Firefox will take Chromes tab management and application feature, and then I can forget about chrome and have the best of both worlds in firefox!
Until then, Ill use them both I think.

I'll be sticking with Opera, and while Chrome does seem to copy a number of Opera's features (such as the speed dial, quick find feature, and general layout), it doesn't have mouse gestures and is still way too buggy.

Finaly ? They fixed it quite quickly. And the funny thing is that Google repeated the same flaw in Chrome.
And gee, where would they have gotten the idea for the minimalistic approach from ?

Just downloaded chrome and using it now. I guess its ok, but I dont see the big advantages over Firefox.... yet.

Internet safety agencies are warning people not to use Chrome as their daily browser since it's an untested product with lots of bugs and security leaks.

CHROME...may it go the way of the amazing Cuil search engine...I give it a thumbs down as of now. Granted, it's only in it's first release right now, but once more applications are written for it, I'm sure it'll be a better product. FireFox was the same way! It's the extensions that make it worth while!
As for the CNN review: "At work, I often have 40 or 50 tabs open in Firefox, grouped in different windows depending on which topic they pertain to. Frequently, Firefox would slow down all the other applications on my computer, then seize up completely."
Seriously...you don't think having 40 to 50 instances of a program running will not make it unstable or lag??? I swear it's like getting a gas station attendant to review the new 5 star restaurant in town! But that's just me on my :soapbox:

The google homepage. But it took over 10 years and tens of thousands of man-hours before they were completely satisfied it was bug-free.

They definitely do have a lot of things still in beta. Here is their Google Products page (http://www.google.com/intl/en/options/), many of which are still listed as beta.

If its always in beta,then they don't HAVE to fix any bugs :dunno

I guess it should also be noted that both IE 8 and Firefox 3.1 (the versions most places are comparing to Chrome) are also in beta.

I know nobody ever reads the EULA, but take a look at Chrome's before you use it. They say they are reworking it, but as it stands they say that anything you access with chrome they can archive and use for whatever purpose they want, without your permission, forever.
