ok so i'm about to begin wiring my first cab. i'm using a mini-pac for a two player / spinner / trackball configuration. i'm going to have one button on either side of my spinner (turbotwist 2) and i'm assuming i'll want to daisy chain them both as player one button one. am i wrong? all i can think of offhand is arkanoid and i'm pretty sure both buttons did the same thing.
can you spinner heads think of any games that would require me to wire in a second button? thanks for any input on the matter!

Tempest.
If you want to play 360 steering wheel games with it, Pole Position is an example (one for gas, one for toggling high/low). It's playable enough with a spinner that I do it occasionally and enjoy it.

Tempest = 2 buttons
Blasteroids = 3 buttons
Major Havoc = 2 buttons
Omega Race = 2 buttons
Of course, if you use the spinner for driving games that would add a bunch more. MAWS seems to be down so I can't get a bigger list. (EDIT: TheShanMan beat me)
Another option is to just use the existing player one buttons, depending on where you have the spinner located. Then you don't need duplicate buttons just for spinner games.

MAWS being down is a kicker! Didn't Star Trek require 3 or 4 buttons?
You may mock up a CP and see what works for you. You may be able to use the spinner AND P1 buttons at the same time.

well i was trying to shy away from doing just that but i guess i'll just use the player buttons. the only reason i can't put the spinner too close to them is cause i have a 7" turbotwist wheel to attach. i didn't want knuckles or hands hitting the player two stick, as my spinner is front-and-center. thanks everyone for the VERY FAST input though.

Gotcha. I'd still suggest playing around with a cardboard layout and seeing what works or not. Can't hurt to test it.
Or post some drawings here. You'll get a million reasons to do it a million different ways. ;D

and yes, MAWS being down is a major kick in the teeth.... short of making a physical mock-up, that site has helped me more than anything in deciding my layout....
which as of an hour ago looks like this... (minus admin buttons) i'm still trying to figure out how many to use. and where to put them. i'm using maximus arcade

I like the colors in your design. I'd also suggested lighted buttons to pimp that up! Since you are getting a TT2 from GGG, consider getting their Novagems. I have them and they look great. With your artwork, I can only imagine how great it will look. :applaud:
You will also probably get feedback about the wheel being below the trackball. If you are playing Golden Tee or any game where you need to spin the trackball with any velocity, that wheel will be in the way. IF possible, slap them in some spare wood or sturdy cardboard and try it out. You don't even need to hook them up.
Or, if you go with the TT2, leave the wheel off most of the time and that will help some. But I don't think it will be very easy or comfortable to use. My two cents.

yes, the wheel will stay off the majority of the time cause it's a TT2. i just couldn't imagine putting the spinner anywhere else with the wheel option though. the panel will have translucent red and blue buttons, respectively. in an attempt to keep the wire mess to a minimum, i'm simply gonna throw in an nova matrix LED marquee light under the panel... i got two in case one isn't enough.
