Title: Illuminated Joysticks (anyone else making them?)
Post by: Underhill on September 01, 2008, 10:00:33 pm
I've searched the forum, I've searched websites but all I find is references to slick stik.  Obviously slick stik is out of the question.

Is anyone else making illuminated joysticks these days?

no one at all?  Even a translucent top would look good.

These are translucent - but not illuminated.

Search the forum - there are a number of threads discussing illuminated joysticks. I believe a few members were/are selling hollow joystick shafts.

Thanks for the link arzoo.  I searched the forums before I asked but I'm new here and probably missed something (I'll do some searching for hollow shafts).  So I might be having to piece something together if I want to illuminate a translucent ball top.  I was just wondering if anyone else was making something similar to slick stik.

Luigi - replied to your PM

Thanks again

Thanks Ginsu.  Another place to look.

I guess I should have mentioned that I'm currently in the planning stage for my CP but have the basic idea.  So I don't actually have to match the shafts to a specific joystick yet and my options are still wide open.  Although I am leaning towards a set of u360's and a dedicated 4way.

Once I know what's available and my options for illuminating the joysticks I'll be able to start purchasing the parts.  Figured it would save me a lot of hassles this way instead of trying to get the joysticks lit up later.  Something close but not exact to the image below in a 2 player version.

Thanks again for all the information

Hi.

As I said in my PM, the U360 is something special.

Look here http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=82292.0

It seems he has a solution für U360  :)

Franco is making a solution for U360s (or at least he's working on it)

Ask this guy.  He apparently knows where to get them. (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=84116.0)  It's a little bit horrifying, though.  Are you sure this is what you want?

Just got a reply from Mameroom about the SlikSticks they are still making, as shown here:

We are currently selling (for a limited time), competition/super joystick shafts with an illuminated balltop handle.  We currently sell these for $40 each.
