Title: Some interesting monitor stuff
Post by: Ummon on September 01, 2008, 08:50:53 pm
I read a thread where someone's neck board was loose and securing it brought the brightness back to standard. I have a presentation monitor where the brightness seems off, so I took the back off to see and found the following things interesting. The first two photos show the back interface panel is actually an additional feature. The last photo shows what I realised is the sub of the built-in speaker system.

(Alas, the neckboard seemed secure, so now change there. As well, my candy's monitor has what seems a similar situation and the neck board wasn't on all the way. Again, however, when pushing it all the way up there was no change. Ah well.)

A lot of big companies and schools have/had these large presentation monitors that could accept a wide variety of inputs.

I'm still looking for one... when they can be found usually they can be gotten for a sweet deal since everyone is going flat screen these days.

I called a couple of companies that had some listed but they ended up being old ads they didn't bother to update on their site.  Get this, one company told me they had over twenty monitors similar to this and they ended up throwing them out!  I was shocked, but the girl said they dropped the price to $50, then $15, and then had a local ad saying whoever wanted one to just come and pick them up, and they still sat there.  She said they were taking up valuable warehouse space so eventually they had to get rid of them.

Now why can't I land a deal like that?!!!

Ummon let us know how it works out and what your opinion is of it.

Oh. I've had this for a while. It's scan range is 31-48khz, but it's refresh range is 52-130hz, so it can display high refresh native modes. It's pretty great but for the slight dimness. Good picture, just not dazzling.
