Title: New xmen vs street fighter project
Post by: mcdeez on September 01, 2008, 08:00:42 pm
I just picked up this working arcade cabinet so far only the fact the guy had lost keys(not that hard to pick plus i got 5 bucks in quarters ) and one of the joysticks only has 4 way movement for 250 seems like a good deal.
I am now looking for some advice as far as setting up a emulation machine.
I will probably leave the arcade monitor in looks like a 24 inch in good shape.
so now i am trying to figure out all the hardware i am going to have to buy to set up a arcade/jukebox.
my list so far
jpac and ipac
maximus arcade frontend(like the looks and ease of use)
I already have a itx pc(celeron 220, 1gb memory, sis graphics) or a "modified" xbox(would like some suggestion if these are 2 low powered)

I can already see all my cash walking out the door already :)

Id be interested in the  CPS2 A/B boards.

you can get a 2nd (or 3rd ) hand P4 2.4GHz for next to nothing, and as far as I know, you cant use an arcade monitor with an XBOX (just a Dreamcast).

beofre you go buying stuff and rippin the cab apart, enjoy it play it and plan it all out.

I am enjoying it i have always wanted my own arcade game and i have already ordered a replacement joystick.
my main concern right now is the jamma interface and using a jpac this is still a fuzzy area for me, do you have to use an arcadevga card or will any work?

Damn you Malenko  lol   I was going to say the same thing myself about the  CPS2 board set.

$250 is a good price. I paid the same amount for my 25' Dynamo cab. Enjoy your first cab, because shortly after you finish you will be hooked and want to buy a second cab. I'm working on buying my third cab *sigh*

Nice buy! I've been looking for a used arcade cabinet here in Washington but haven't had any luck so far. I totally agree with Malenko...enjoy it before you rip into it! It looks like a real beauty!     :)
