Title: Replacing an arcade monitor with a TV, or LCD?
Post by: payment_due on September 01, 2008, 01:41:49 pm
Well, there's my question.  I have a 19 or 20" monitor that came with my cab, and it's a 'rounded' monitor and it's too small and I'm not a fan. Is it possible to replace an arcade monitor with say, a 25" regular TV, or say a 25" widescreen LCD computer monitor?

Are these solutions possible, and if they ARE, are they ill advised?

Also - sorry for all the questions - is there any way to change the focus on an arcade monitor?  The game I have is just a teensy bit blurry.

if youre running from a PCB to an arcade monitor, you need an arcade monitor. There are exceptions, like the 48 in 1 boards and Tekken 3 they have VGA outs.

as for focus, adjust the focus knob on the chassis

Ah, ok. Thanks for the reply Malenko.  I figured as much, but it doesn't hurt to ask eh?

Also, thanks for the help on the focus issue. I'll try that asap.  Thanks!

You do have another option... You can use a video encoder which takes the traditional arcade monitor input and converts it to TV frequency. There are a couple variations on these depending on your needs.
