could someone please tell me how to update advancemame?
-
there's speculation there might be a new one coming in the future, but for now whatever the last version that came out was, that's it.
-
whatever the last version that came out was
0.106

It's pretty thin speculation, no less perpetrated by myself.....
From what version, nightwulfe? As bv posted above, the last was .106 .
-
other than soft15khz like video features, are there other reasons to use it? e.g. did it have video performance tweaks?
-
Advmame 127 is out.................Go get it........................

I know exactly who it was (points finger!), but that IS speculation, which is all I said.
-
where exactly is this "speculation"? not even advmame forums has it.
-
You missed it. I was referring to the single person on these boards who said it.
That speculation comment was meant as a joke.

That's the main point of the program - it doesn't need tweaking. You configure it a certain way and it runs right. It automatically picks the best mode for your hardware and tries to fill the screen. And it does this for any type of display, even LCDs, although I don't see the point. I haven't had the chance to use it on a TV yet, and am curious how different than vanilla mame (as at least the color palette is a slight different) it would look on one. It looks slightly different on a multisync. Of course, an issue is any display with composite sync - at least I haven't been able to get the sync right in such a case (the 15/24 khz monitor in my candy).

I know. My point was I made the reference in the first place as a joke directed at your speculation, because I knew you'd be around sooner or later.

Ahhh. I was actually adding to your initial comment, a general admission somewhat directed at the OP.

With ADVV tool you can configure all resolutions with real time preview and change all values (p-clock, position, whidt, height, Hz, ecc...).
With one command of the AdvanceMame, you can associate a resolution with all games that use that resolution (and Hz of course).

Really? I don't recall this. It has come up, or rather I had to create a different device_video_format for a set of games and did it manually in the rc file. Perhaps the resolution followed by "/" and the format?

You can hit TAB, VIDEO, then select the "right" resolution and then hit (something like) SAVE FOR THIS GAME SIZE or SAVE FOR THIS RESOLUTION ... but this allows you to select only among the resolutions that advmame generates. I think there are some games that you really need to generate a custom resolution for ...
-
Oh. Right. I forgot that option in the list. But it would be in the rc so it's probably something like I said above. Curious to see.

Um, it depends on your hardware. I haven't needed to.

P O N G !
thank you for this release. what else is new? it seems to be faster too, but that's maybe because i have not been playing for some time now. can you release the changelog? and maybe the sources as well?
although listed as preliminary, ncv2 (namco classics v2) is more playable in the original release. graphics is broken in this release.

What?
-
like to read whats been changed o this release.
I use to add things/games to advmame (Pong, Neo Pong, Fast Jr.Pacman, Ms.Pac/Pacman Hacks etc...) until I updated to .106. Then I did not bother to add those games again. But I still want to add them again and never had a chance to do it. Hoping this release adds at least PONG, or Neo Pong.
-
cps3 is in there too.

I have not seen this release but..... hmmmmm now that you mentioned it, I hope its not the Month of April in your State/country/town/Planet.
-
is there a TXT or gamelist somewhere ?
I really like to read on the changes/addition/fix etc... before I make a move on to putting the exe file on my cab. It's that to much of a hassle, but I just don't want to waste that time if the diff is not that important to me.
Is PONG included ? This might just make me transfer the exe file to my cab and will cross finger that all my monitor setting for the games will not get wack up.
-
So this is just someone who added games? Like, none of the new game changes such as DK or Pole Position? Is there any confirmed rectification on support of ATI cards?
-
Oh, this is the dos or linux version.
