Title: Un-named Project (second time around!)
Post by: Axe on August 26, 2008, 11:45:56 pm
So, after taking a week to set up  and organize, the cabinet i purchased recently ade it to my basement.

a vision 33, 33" showcase cabinet, currently with Tekken 3 installed and running.....  The buttons were dirty and sticky, but the game ran fine (although i suck at Tekken)

Step 1 was to celan and check the monitor so i knew what it was.  A pentranic 1431. whichi can find no info on. lol. apparently made in 96.  works fiitprne for now. ega/cga monitor

next i started drilling out locks :(  the previous owners didn't have the keys) so i had to drill out 3 cam locks just to get access to the back panel (circuit) and controls.  I then considered the coin doors, i really wanted to keep them, and not drill them out to change locks.  I took the bolt out of the heavy duty hasp, and saw that the coin door was a little open, jus tenought o fit a small blade screwdriver behind and force the door (the lock had been previously bent by the looks of things) inside the coin box were all the keys... the coin door lock was dead, refusing to turn even after  a lubing, but the mech door opens fine.

After cleaning the worst of the play-1 buttons i relized i didn't want to save them, so i removed everything and started thinking out my CP.
I am gonna lay it out for a really wide space between players, and a trackball in the middle.

maybe work out soem designs tonight/tomorrow.

And it needs a Name... Big Ass Mame?

The thing is MASSIVE!!  By the way, it does have the marquee holder, it is just hard to fit it on!

Showcase cabs are awesome. It looks like you have a nice canvas to start from. I can't wait to see how this all pulls together!

BAM sounds good to me! ;D
