Good Question.  I have no way of testing here.

My Question. Why would you be dedicating a high end PC that can run Vista 64 to a Cab?

I've tested MALA 1.04 and 1.05 on Vista x64 with and with SP1.

However, as of this writing, soft-15khz does not work with vista x64.  :-(

Humm Is salior working on a fix for soft 15?

I wonder if LED Blinky works with Mala as a plug in Vista 64?

Loadman reason why you want to run vista 64 is for bette preformance on the newer games emulated in Mame. There is a 30% increase with a optimized 64bit build.

MALA works on both XP64 and Vista 64. Make sure you delete the keyhook dll, it can cause problems in 64. Caused MAME to hang for me.

Loadman - I recently upgraded my desktop pc and my cab PC. The more powerful system went in the cab. There are games that I want to play on my cab that require a high end computer. I quit playing PC games years ago so my main comp doesn't need as much power. The price difference between a AMD system and a core2duo at 3Ghz is less than $100; now is a good time to put some horsepower in a cab.

WoW   :o

A real change

When I first started findling with mame people would repurpose their old PC to play 80's video games on a cab..

I guess with the price of PC's dropped it can be affordable to have a 'kick ass' pc in a cab now.  :-)

ALSO

The next version of MaLa will automatically not load keyhook.dll unless it detects OS is Windows 98 or ME.  ;)

yeah, my first mame pc was a pentium pro 200.  played classics just fine.

then got a pentium 3 in the cab.  that played a lot of newer 2d shooter/ fighting games fine

then a pentium 4.  that played pretty much the vast majority of the games including some 3d games

now with an oc'd core2duo, a lot of 3d games are playable except some of the higher bar games like gauntlet legends

It should, but I have no way to test.
