can cab speaker (mono) 8ohm 5 watts, be added to a simple amp on a set of speakers with no subby?
what is the most speakers that can get added to an amp eg, on my other cab i want 2 r and 2 l speakers added?
on my vert cab i guess mostly all the old vertical games like bombjack ect were mono, so should i stick with mono or go stereo?would stereo sound ok on 1 speaker?
only prob with stereo is the cab has a mono speaker in it and the hole is routed, so how would i do stereo?
and the marquee space is about 5" in height, couldnt fit a casing inthere.
so another question, should i keep cased or decase?
has any one tryed tescos teknika 2.1 or paired speakers?
would a pair of speakers be ok on a cab or would they
sound tinny? or shuld i get amp and use cabvol for adjusting vol?

That's a lot of questions for one posting! :dizzy:
What type of cab have you got? Is it a Jamma conversion or all MAME? I'd personally recommend swapping them out for a more complete solution with no wiring ball-ache. Try a nice PC 2.1 speaker system with a wired volume control. Should save you a bit of cash and hassle.

yeah will do, whats best way to mount them? its a mame cab (im process) of doing, it was a old video game cab.
the marquee space is about 5 inch tall.
so will it effect quality if the speakers are decased?
and should i put the subby in the cash box door space for good thumping.
also if i cant get wired cotrols will no vol contols be ok if i use cabvol?
any drawbacks to that prog?

You shouldn't need to decase them; the combined mid-range and tweeter on the machines we make are roughly 6"x 3.5" x 3.5" and mount fine in that space behind the marquee. The sub on most is a ported box so anywhere you mount it internally should deliver controlled bass and it will sound centrally-mounted due to the internal acoustics of the cabinet itself. Somewhere towards the base is best though.

ok thanx
would i be wasting cash getting anything other than a 2.1?
***off topic***
i have a jpac and if i dont use the shift function want to add some admin buttons, how do i do this with jpac?

Anything more than a 2.1 is a waste; most arcade games came with just stereo sound at best, so even a 2.1 is overkill, but it does add some serious volume and bass to your games and MP3 tracks too, if you run a jukebox on your cab.
With regards to the extra function buttons: if you don't use shift and have already used all the standard inputs, thereis no simple solution to my knowledge.

I have a Creative Labs set I got from Walmart for like $20 a while back. 2 Small Cube speakers that fit perfectly into the holes where the arcade's actual speakers were. They aim down from just behind the Marquee area. The sub I'm going to put down under the coin door. It also has a wired in volume control which I'll probably hide under the CP or somewhere else. Couple Velcro straps to keep the speakers from falling out and it works great.

i managed to get a set of cambridge sound works 4point surround speakers from fleaby for £11, it consists of 4 cubes , a sub and wired remote (41w of sound)
i will put sub in cash door dept, and put wires up to 2 cubes behind marquee and the other 2 behind the cp.
hopefully it will have good banging sounds :)
