Title: Another pit bull attack - on another small child
Post by: ChadTower on August 20, 2008, 10:02:35 am
Sigh. (http://wjz.com/local/pit.bull.attack.2.798752.html)

The madness continues.  This one is the dumbest yet.  A home daycare with a pit bull?  A daycare worker that leaves a toddler alone?  Outside?  With a pit bull?

There is so much fail here these people should sign with the Falcons.

Note the usual defense by the owner.

"It ain't never bit nobody before."

No ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- sherlock - the first time is usually the last time. If you want an aggressive dog, go get a mini-pinscher. At least those can't outright kill people.

"It's raising new concerns about the controversial breed."

"Police say the daycare is licensed and no one will face criminal charges."

If this happened where I live she'd be in jail.  I was never too fond of the overly strict rules about cages for "dangerous" animals, but every time I see things like this I start to see the point.

Can anyone make heads or tales out of this statement?

"She was definitely someone who we trusted," [the victim's mother] said.  "You hear about pit bull attacks all the time."

If you hear about pit bull attacks, "all the time," why exactly would you "trust" a person with a pit bull to care for your 18-month-old child?  I mean, I suppose I can even kind of understand trusting someone who has a pit bull.  But why in god's name would those two sentiments go together in a single thought: "I definitely trusted her to watch my kid . . . you hear about pit bulls attacking kids all the time."

WTF?

It must be killing him to be going out of his way to avoid posting here. I think we should start a few NFL threads and bring betting into the mix. There is only so much he can take before assploding you know.

Where I live, our daycare provider states that even owning a pitbull (or some other types of dog) is guaranteed to have her license taken away. As such, she has a miniature poodle that's so old I don't think it really has any teeth left.

Even then, these ---smurfing--- pitbulls and their moronic owners just don't get it. They want us to "understand" these dogs and feel compassion. It's not the damn dogs, it's the damn owners who can't manage their dogs.

Our idiot neighbors moved in next door early summer and they have some kind of pit cross-breed. This thing pisses me off. It pushes against our fence so hard the fence is starting to show stress cracks. Our dog, an English Spaniel, go at their bastard from our side of the fence. As near as I can tell, something is seriously wrong with their bastard. When he first moved in, his fur and eyes were clean. Now, his fur shows some matting and his eyes are blood shot. I can't even go out in my own yard without this ---smurfing--- mutt jumping against the fence. I don't like hurting dogs, but if I ever feel it comes down to my kid and that mutt, the mutt goes.

Doesn't help the neighbors are chain smokers and do late night sessions with MJ in their hot tub. Their carport is carpeted in cigarrete butts. Oh I can't wait until the rainy season when it all washes into my yard.  :badmood:

My only consolation is the family has two one year olds and a ten month old. I'm hoping they'll be more desirable targets than my own kids.

Dogs will eat anything you toss over the fence.

Just saying.

I've heard there's something you can soak in bacon grease to take care of dog behavioral problems...

 ;)

Yeah, a Buick.

Sounds like, Pit-bull or not, something very bad was bound to happen to this kid eventually.

The rumor is that Tommy was banned but I suspect he was actually eaten.
