I have not had a chance to check the code on this yet...
Does anyone else have MaLa crash if they disable Audio on the Music tab MaLa options ? Huh

Yep, it crashes with a plethora of error windows.

WOW :o
Thanks for confirming. I found it while I was testing JukeBox stuff.
It must have been a bug for over a year and nobody noticed :dunno
I guess once you enable audio you usually would just leave it on

I usually just turn it off in Mala.ini.

SGT, are you talking about the "cascading" error messages that move towards the bottom right corner of the screen and just keep accumulating until you hit a button to kill it? That's what I always get when mala crashes (pretty annoying, btw). Generally happens when I hit ctrl-alt-delete to get to the task manager.

That is the same type of result/
hmm is there a link.? Does the audio not like being shutoff? Hence my next question.
Q) Does it happen to you when you ctrl-alt-delete when audio is not enabled?

Sorry loadman. Didn't mean to imply that my crash is related to the audio setting. I just found it interesting that another crash has the same cascading effect.
I've mentioned the ctrl-alt-del crash before (I believe you said you couldn't reproduce), and it has never been a big enough deal to make a stink about it because it doesn't happen with "normal" usage, and the workaround is to open the Options dialog before hitting ctrl-alt-del. Frankly, I have no idea about the audio setting. If the audio setting is also used to enable video snap audio and/or game selection audio, then it is on. If it is just used for jukebox stuff, then it's probably off. I'd be glad to do more investigation work for you if you'd like, loadman.
Sorry for the semi-unintentional thread hijack!

Yeah, still can't reproduce the crash here you report with ctr-alt-delete... weird.
But it sounds like a similar symtom to the disable audio one.
Even though they are low priority they are on the list

I also get a strange bug when MaLa starts and begins to play an mp3 file... occasionally (once in every 10 or so times) it plays it insanely sped-up, as if its on extreme fast-forward or something.

I had this once. I found it only occured sometimes on items with weird sample rates. Try re-sampling
