Title: Happ trackball clear mounting plate?

Hey guys I was just looking at Happ's site and part # 55-1102-00 says "3 inch Trackball Mounting Plate Kit, Painted Clear" - what do you suppose that means? Is it a clear plate (plastic then, I'd assume) that could be placed over artwork? But it says "painted" - and would we even want something plastic so prominently on our CPs? I guess I could just call them and ask, but it's the weekend. :)

It's zinc (silver-ish metal) with a clear coating on top.  I just think of it as an unpainted metal plate.

Its a smooth top where the black mount is beveled
