hey all.
i've seen sites where people have hacked their ms sidewinder gamepads. i have a ms sidewinder usb gamepad (with a usb --> gameport adapter) that i want to hack.
the connections aren't easily identifed as the standard gamepad, but i think i found the direction connects (ie labeled TP8, TP10, TP9 & TP11). i'm just not sure how to do the grounds.
can someone give me the easiest way to ground this thing, it will be connecting to my extra 4way joy.
thanks.

Does it have the trigger buttons attached with two wires? If so, one of them is ground. Might have to bust out the multimeter to find out if it's not labeled.

it does have two triggers, but they are not marked ground. this may sound silly, but my electrical experience goes about as far as plugging something into the wall (and not wizzin on an electric fence =)
was is the best to 1) check for the ground, 2) connect the ground. my woman will do all the soldering, she solders all her own needles (for her tattooing)
thanks.

Hmm. You might be better off just getting a gameport Sidewinder and hacking that. Everything is labeled nicely.
You can pick them up on Ebay cheap. I got mine for $10, plus $4.95 shipping.
I thought I saw in one of the example pages someone who hacked a USB Sidewinder, but I can't remember which one it was. :( sorry.
Good luck,
