Title: Any M1 users out there?
Post by: TheManuel on August 14, 2008, 04:32:06 pm
I have incorporated M1 into my cab running MaLa and have a gamelist for it and everything but the problem is that M1 runs in an ugly DOS Windows.
The only front-end for it that I'm aware of is Bridge-M1 which is excellent but cannot be run from the command line.

Does anyone know of any cab-friendly front-ends for M1?

In Mala and using M1.exe, if you set the window state to minimized, you never see the Cmd Window.  Unlike using a hidden window state, this method allows you to press ESC to exit M1 and it also allows you to use the other keys to navigate to the other songs/games.

Hmm...

When I tried that, I'm pretty I was not able to switch from song to song for some reason but
I will certainly try again.  I meant to try both hidden and minimized but perhaps I skipped the hidden mode.

The only drawback there is not being able to see the names of the songs from the pre-made lists.  Here is where a front end would come in handy or even a MaLa plugin that simply shows the list of songs.

Thanks for you great tips as usual.

Yeah, the hidden mode doesn't work but the minimized does allow you to go the next song.  However I can see that you still need a gui for M1 to accomplish what you need.

I'll take that compromise until something shows up in the future.

Have you checked out Bridge M1 (http://www.e2j.net/downloads.html)?  I've been messing around with it, excellent way to get sounds from games for ringtones or anything else.

Yes.
Bridge M1 is the "de-facto" choice.
However, I was looking for a front-end that could be launched from MaLa and Bridge-M1 does not support command line operation.
Thanks.
