ok I need some help setting up an emulator in mamewah, I need to set up a few of them. But if I can get help with one, I can probely do the rest on my own. Ok I need to do an N64, Super Nintendo, Nintendo, Gameboy Advanced, and a couple I am forgetting. Ok If anyone can lead me through step by step instructions or have a tutorial online that shows me would greatly help me. I have read all of the wiki pedia byoac mamewah setup, and have tried the mamewah start pack thing that has everything already set up and you put it on your C: drive. Niether really worked. If anyone can guide me through the Gameboy Advanced Setup then I can get the rest to do.Ok I have made my folder in the config folder of mamewah, have the .INI edited and made. I launch mamewah and its not under the plateform or group menu?

What part didn't work?

What part didn't work?
I'm guessing all....hey gonzo...maby we should just point him to all of my posts...they seem to be following a similar patten. :P
emopants92....people like me and especially gonzo are forgiving of questions like this and what i mean by that is you obviously haven't done anything in the way of searching this forum for answers. 9 outta 10 times i have seem some of the more senior members come back with stuff like ask a specific question, or where are you stuck...etc etc.
Now, as i said i am more than happy to help because i am very much new to this myself and hated when my answers went unsolved to the point of pulling my hair out. I quickly learnt that using the search link for this forum and being specific in what i asked was paramount. By just typing in "Project 64" i got 6 pages of posts...see how you go by doing a little research first, then come back with specific questions for me and gonzo, that way we can help solve it for you.
-
Yeah I know what you mean all of the noob questions, but the problem being I HAVE used the search on this forum and google and seem not able to find anything helping the problem. It might just be I am not searching the keywords right, but I spent about 2-3 hours of searching yesterday for this question and nothing

forgot to mention that I am reading your post and will try to fix later when I get back home.
-
ok sorry been busy for a couple of days now, and I read your post about the n64 and you stop responding after you got the already configured mamewah setup? I have tried that method already and it got completely screwy and I just dont get how to set up an emulator in mamewah any help? (yes I have tried to follow that download and tried didnt work, I also tried to go off that download and set it up on the newer mamewah, but still didnt work) ( and yes it is funny how we both have very similar post)

If you can tell me what part failed I would gladly help you. Or you could also try going to Cpviewer site (http://cpviewer.emuchrist.org/mamewahinifiles.htm). You could see the premade ini files.

+1 to this...still no actual question on what your stuck at. To get a complete walk through is not something ppl are happy to do.
What i can offer is make sure you have all the downloads you need to start installing str8 away (Project 64 is what i am refferring to). Start at the .ini fils already located in MameWah...pick one and change it to N64. Thats how i started. Then change the ini to point to all of the roms, exe etc..alter the wrapper as well. Find games and put them in a rom folder and point your rom path to that. Make sure you only put .7z as project 64 only accepts these types of roms. If you want to accept other file formats you may have to look for different emulators an thats where i may say see ya and goos luck.
The CP viewer site is a good start as mentioned......
Ask me specific questions and i, along with gonzo will help.

Ok ill try to explain the problem, I am using cpviewer .ini for gameboy advanced emulator (visual boy) for example. I made the .ini in the config folder for gba emulator and set the .ini to all the paths I need and when I go into mamewah and try to go the gameboy advance emulator in the game options and its not there? how do I get mamewah to launch the emulator because I am missing something but can't find what part I am missing to set up mamewah to launch the emulator?
-
where is the ini located...im pretty sure it has to be in mamewah for mamewah to recognse it...is this where it is?
maby posting it as well might help so i can have a look
-
I Have a folder in the configure folder of mamewah with GameBoy Advanced, then in that folder it has the 2 .ini one being the list of all games and the second being the actual configurations of the gba emulator(which is the one im talking about and I got from the cpviewer cite), also in the folder is the game folder with nothing in it. I will post the .ini with all my configuration in about 3 hours ill be able to get to the arcade computer I am using.
-
Folder structure is like this:
Mamewah> Config> Emulator> Emulator.ini
The ini file should have the same name as the folder it's in.
Example Gameboy Advance:
Mamewah> Config> Gameboy Advance> Gameboy Advance.ini
Here are a cople of links that might help you.

So what's the name of the folder your gba.ini is in?
-
gba
-
Don't know how your going but i found this set up guide for you....have a look and see if it matches to what you have done:
http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/VBAGuide/vba-guide.html
-
I know how to set it up, I just cant get mamewah to launch it.
-
Ok you're using 1.63. I'm using 1.62b13a. The newer version seems a little more complicated but anyways.
Open Console.ini located in your config folder. Then add "gba" without the quotes. Then launch Mamewah> Select Group> Console> Select Platform> now gba should be on the list.
-
YEAH thanks so much that helped alot, I remeber put that in it a while ago and it didnt work, but I think I put GAMEBOY ADVANCED not gba. Well thanks but when I start visual boy it comes up in fullscreen but is not centered on my monitor right?
-
Ya. It has to have the same name as the folder.
What resolution are you using? Try using the same resolution for the emulator. Options> Video.
-
Yeah didnt realize that the game wasnt running in 800 X 600
