Imagine not having your MAME PC inside the cabinet. Just have it outside for easy maintenance. Then goto the empty cab and paly game. :o

But what would your arcade controls hook into? You need the computer inside.

Wireless controllers, duh. :)
I fail to see the hype. You've still got to run a power cable...
-
The power cable was obvious to me too at first. If it were a basic desktop lcd, it could run on a battery. Still, what would be the point? It would only run for an hour or two.
-
Just the Video is Wireless. You plug the monitor into outlet. So inside the cab is just the AC/Outlet to power the monitor but video is thru the wireless USB.
-
Still gotta wire up the controls, dude.
There is a wireless USB solution for that...but it costs like $200.
-
(oh, and there's plenty of wireless VGA products out there already. this is the most worthless innovation I've seen in months)
Yeah, I think this idea is kind of iffy, at best.
It would add a whole new meaning to bad GUIs and wardriving. Forget WiFi data packets. Just drive around until you find some dip with one of these, set up a recorder and have a nice recording of every porn site, credit card entry, and chat room conversation your heart desires.
Isn't there a signage manufacturer that has something similar to this to avoid extremely long cable runs?
I can see real application in say.... installing a wide screen TV for viewing pleasure without having to have excessive (and ugly) cable runs between DVD and screen. But use this in a real computing environment? We'll see.
