Okay. Here is the short story:
A while back, I got a Killer Instinct Cab that was partially converted. Built a CP for it, got the computer in, everything running and then the Monitor died. Spent months (literally) trying to fix it (I hate Hanterex monitors!!!). Anyway, finally found a new monitor, installed it, re-built the computer and starting playing some games. Now I realize that my CP is very busy, too many buttons, bad layout, etc (hey, its a FrankenPanel, but I was new to this :P).
Now I would like to build a decent CP. I rarely play fighting games, so I do not need the 8 buttons per player (I had that for both P1 and P2 ;D). Here is would I would *like* to have (read: set me straight if I am totally out there):
- P1, P2 buttons
- Coin button(s). Do I need both coins?
- 2 x 4/8 way joysticks
- P1 & P2 buttons (what do you guys recommend)?
- Admin buttons (i want to avoid the "shift" option as my wife and kids will use it). What buttons do I need? Esc, Pause, Back???
- Trackball
- Spinner
- Nice to have (joystick for Q-Bert)
Would love your feedback, or better yet, templates of what you guys have done in the past...
Regards,
B

Jim,
Thanks for sharing it. A couple of questions.
- Which buttons do you have along the top?
- Do you have the file that you build the PDF from? (AI, PSD)? my CP is rectangular so I would have to resize.

I used a combination of Flash and Inkscape (open Source free software) - Flash for the graphics and Inkscape for the template/drill holes/etc.
Attached are my files... not sure if they'll be much help to you, though.

That helps a lot. I will bring them into Illustrator
Thanks again :notworthy:
