Got Mame4All mostly running...really nice.
-
theres tons of homebrew for them just do a google search for the homebrew apps.
-
dunno about homebrew, but get the full demo of 'payback'. its pretty slick (",)

How can it be a full demo?
Here's the ones I would put on mine:
Duke Nuke'm 3d
Hexen
Quake
Wait they made a new version with a touchscreen apparently. Which one do you have?

i guess what i mean is the playable demo as opposed to the video demo that came with mine.
duke nukem looks good on it, but those arent homebrew really...

Got the one with touchscreen, like it so far, but almost wish I'd used the money for a second DS in a way.
The thing that's made it worth it's weight so far is the MAME compatability. Problem though - I can't figure out how to adjust the clocking on it....which button changes things in MAME4All or MAMEGP2x (either version)?
-
ive just seen they've stopped making these in favour of a new thing called Pandora

on my version of mamegp2x, select a game. on the info screen the arrows are on the clock speed. adjust with the shoulder buttons. press A to confirm. this is to adjust individual games. on mine, since more games than not dont need much power, i set it to 166mhz. then arrow down to the bottom, i think it says 'no save configuration'. use the shoulder buttons to select 'save as default'. gives you a bit more battery life this way. then power hungry games you can go through and individually configure. i have metal slug set to 245 mhz for example. and a few simpler games like phoenix are set to 133mhz.

No, the GP2X makers stopped making the GP2X, period. The Pandora is being done by other guys, and is a spiritual sequel, not an actual one.

For as much as I love my DS, I'll take that back - just got Kick Man to play on this little thing....dear god, pocket Kick Man, Arcade style nonetheless....it just became worth it's weight in gold.

just an update on this. gamepark have stopped making the gp2x, because it has a successor, the gp2xwiz (was going to be called mini, which would have sounded better)

looks good (",) that processor is going to allow for some fairly recent games in mame.
ill be sticking with mine for now though. i dont need to have the latest of everything...
-
Who could afford it? I'll keep mine too...the MAME stuff I have working on it now, plus other emus are enough to keep me plenty busy and out of batteries.
-
So I now have a Gp2x and am in the same boat, not knowing what to get. Aside from the usual stuff I found that I can run dos box meaning my commander keen, raptor, thor, and possibly space hulk may work.
I was looking over the wiki on revisions and I think mine is a mark 2 simply because my friend bought it maybe a year or two ago. I fairly certain he made sure it was a newer version.
RTS have you found any games that you like so far?

duke nukem works quite well on it too. but as far as i can tell you cant look up and down (unless you can plug a keyboard in :D)
