Title: Lock question: help me!
Post by: e46kid on August 07, 2008, 03:22:31 pm
I just received three arcade games with no keys to the locks.  I don't know how to get inside them.  I have never seen these locks before.  Hoping someone would be able to tell me where to get a key for these games.  Please HELP!  :-[

Best to just drill them out and get new ones.  Weird that you would not get a key tho.

I've never seen that kind of lock before either. Get a really big drill bit, haha.

BTW, can I recommend making use of the subject line?

A lot of people (myself included) are irritated by mystery subject lines like that.  Many people don't know the first thing about locks, so reading this thread is a waste of time, but they have no idea what the thread is about unless they click on the link and read the first post.  On the other hand, people who know things about locks might pass this thread over without ever looking inside because they had no idea that the contents of the thread concerned them.  Using the subject line is better for others and for you.

A topic like this should have a subject line like, "Cabs with locks but no keys . . . can anyone help?" or, "Is there a way to open a locked cab without a key?"

Fixed.  Sorry about that, I'm a total noob.  Thanks for your help.

Holy crap! Those are "Van Lock" locks. They are top-of-the-line high quality and very pick resistant. Look at what they $ell for:

http://www.vendorsequipment.com/foundations/store/scresults.asp?category=203

The manufacturer's website is: www.vanlock.com

Alot of large game operating companies use these locks due to their extremely high security. They are very expensive locks!

You are a GENIUS!  Thank you so much for your help!!  I've been searching for days on google trying to figure out what kind of locks they were with absolutely no results.  I knew someone on here would know!  Now to call up the company and see what can be done!  Thanks again for your help.

Several big time game operators in western Washington state use these locks due to their high security/ruggedness/pick & drill resistance.
