Title: Shipping Brackets? Should these be removed? Or built up?

I picked up a TMNT cab with a 25" monitor. When I got it the monitor was closer to the bezel at the bottom and farther from it at the top creating an ugly space between them. When I reinstall the monitor I want to make it parallel to the bezel and glass.

The monitor was bolted to the metal supports on the monitor shelf and screwed into the wood on the top.

After stripping it:
1. Clearly the bezel goes with the monitor, they're a perfect fit.
2. The shelf is at a 90 degree angle to the front of the cab.
3. The top bracket is further back from the front than the metal bottom bracket on the monitor shelf.
4. The red sticker on the top bracket reads "WARNING: Shipping brackets must be removed before pugging in machine to avoid damage to mechanisms. Save shipping brackets and hardware -- MUST reinstall before moving machine to prevent damage during transportation. (Clearly it's been plugged in a number of times with this piece in place.)
5. Ground braid is tied to the metal bracket holding wood "shipping bracket" on the side not in the picture.

Is the top bracket the "shipping bracket? After I unscrewed and unbolted the monitor, it rested on the metal bottom and wooden top bracket and could not fall out. Without the top bracket only the bottom of the monitor would be bolted to the cabinet. I have the following options:

1. Remove the top bracket  (if it's the "shipping bracket", probably remove after reinstallation of monitor)
2. Move the top bracket
3. Build up the top bracket so the monitor front lays parallel to the bezel and glass (much easier than 2)

I would like to choose option 3 for the additional monitor support. Is there a good reason not to?

oops. Meant to post these in the image thread. But as long as I've unintentionally bumped my thread... I decided to add an extra inch of wood on top of that wooden bracket to make the monitor sit at the proper angle. Is there any reason not too?

In the second large picture it appears the upper bracket with the red sticker has adjustable bolt holes at the bottom. It looks like these have slipped. Some re-alignment may correct it and maybe a stronger, new screw-hole should be drilled?

Thanks... The wooden bracket needs to be used. They may have slipped a bit, but not the inch or so that the monitor is misaligned by. The bolts go through the cabinet--I don't think they're going anywhere. Perhaps the original monitor in here was swapped for one of a different shape, or the original wood was replaced with a smaller piece before I got it.
