Title: Dumb questions but here goes (IPAC)
Post by: Billy the Kid on March 12, 2002, 10:49:16 pm
Newbie here so bare with me.  I've looked all over this site as well as other websites for some simple directions on how to wire up a control panel but I seem to have come up empty.  Here goes....

1. Where can I purchase the wires that connect to the IPAC?  What are they called?

2. Do I need to solder those things on or do they clamp on there nicely?

3. Does the IPAC power the control panel or will I need an alternate power source?

Right now, I've got two competition joysticks with all the buttons except the wires and any other minor parts needed with wiring up one of these bad boys.  I'm going to immediately order anything else, but I just
need a basic list of supplies needed to wire it up.

What I have:
1. Custom made control panel with laminate, t-molding, and all attached joysticks and buttons
2. IPAC is sitting seperately in the box it came in

What I don't have:
1. Wires,  and anything else that I left off

Thanks for any help you can give me.  My dream has always been to make my own control panel and I'm oh so close to doing it.

BTW the crimp-on quick connects are .187 female ones from Happs

Enjoy!

You can also get the disconnects at Radio Shack online.  They come in boxes of 100.  You will also need a crimping tool if you don't already have one.

I've got a dumb question too.  About how long did it take to get the I-Pac shipped to your house.  I live in North Carolina and I was thinking about ordering one.

Did you order it from http://www.ultimarc.com and if so, did you order it via Airborne Express.

If you didn't order it from http://www.ultimarc.com, where did you order it?

My experience was simular.  I ordered the IPac and the Happs stuff on the same day.  IPac arrived first, Happs arrived two days later.  The funny thing is Happs is only 24 miles from my house!
