Your question is a little vague, can you be a little more specific? Personally I would use Lightwave (for 3D raytraced videos) or any other program that is fully geared towards video/animation...

nightwulfe:

You're going to want to use something more like Adobe Premiere, or another video editing package to do that.  After Effects is great for adding special FX/visuals, but you need a video editing suite to do what you want.

If you've never done anything like that before, your best bet it to search the internet for as many tutorials as you can to start understanding how the software works and to start experimenting and learning.  There's no easy step-by-step guide for doing something like that.

After Effects is completely capable of creating that movie you posted. The hardest part would be the 3D tunnel but definitely possible. Now if you have no idea how to use After Effects, don't think you can put something like that together quickly. If you have some experience and just need some pointers, feel free to PM me.

I am unsure why you would use video editing software for something of this nature. Its all FX work.

Don't get me wrong...you could definitely use a video editing program to put together an intro vid. Premiere, Final Cut, etc. have some pretty powerful tools and plug-ins. And I definitely wouldn't be trying to edit video (straight cuts to music etc.) in a program like After Effects where you have to render out a RAM preview every time to you want to watch something in real time. But if you are going for FX bling, then AE is your best bet...especially if you already own it. Someone else suggested Lightwave....a great 3D program but bigger learning curve than AE imo and pretty pricey too! :D
