Title: is there a way to use my x-arcade control on a jamma machine?
Post by: 72xmulch on August 06, 2008, 12:44:07 pm
i am converting an old beat up clutch hitter cab into a MK2  machine and am wondering if i can hook up my xarcade controls temporarily untill i can afford to build the controls the way i want? its built for mame or console games and i cant find anything online saying how i would use it in a real arcade machine....
well thanks for any info...

Sure, at the end of the day, they're still arcade controls (albeit not very well made ones).

Remove the bottom of the X-arcade, remove the quick dissconnects from the controls you want to use (both NO and COM terminals, make sure you make a note of each wire too) and run new wires with disconnects from the microswitches to your JAMMA harness. You will need to do a new ground loop from the controls to the JAMMA harness too.

If you use this method you can easily change it back to a normal x-arcade by simply plugging in the original quick disconnects.

You may also need to make a hole in the x-arcade base/back panel to run the wires through.
