Title: Which quick disconnects?

I used calipers to measure the width of the terminals and they are .2"  They are significantly bigger and smaller than .187" and .25" respectively.  Can someone help?  The battery is dead in my calipers, so I can't get a digital reading, but I can see the .2" mark, so I can't imagine that I'm just misreading it.

I bought quick disconnects from lowes that looked like the exact right size, but it turned out they are just a little bit too loose.  I don't think off the shelf quick disconnects are perfect fit for most microswitches.  Of course, you can do like I did and give them just a little bit, almost imperceptible squeeze, from a pair of pliers and they should fit on tight.

Here are some pics.  The first one shows the markings on one of the switches.  The second shows the measurement inside a pair of calipers.  The third is just a cool shot of a bug that let me get the camera unbelievably close (close enough for a macro shot) to it without flying away.  It was hypnotized by the light and heat of my work lamp.   :)

They're .205".  Yes, there is such a thing.

Get the more common .250" and squeeze them slightly with pliers to give it more tension.

Or solder your wires on.

That's weird.  They all came from Happ (a few years ago).  It seems strange that I seem to be the only person who's buttons and joysticks came with microswitches with this uncommon-sized terminal.  Oh well.

I don't think you are.  I've read quite a bit about people who get switches only to have to "tweak" them a bit.

And hey...I could be wrong.  But you're measuring @ .200-ish on your device.  .250" is only .045" larger than .205", which isn't much, but .187" would be too small by far.

Grr . . . I was at Ace Hardware yesterday and happened past a battery rack, so I picked up a little button for my digital calipers.  Despite what the ruler shows, the LCD read precisely .187".  The "grr" is that I placed an order for 200 quick disconnects Friday night.  I contacted the company that I ordered the disconnects from to see if I could change my order, but they'd already left the factory.

I haven't talked to anyone about returning them yet, but I read the company's return policy and it talks about a restocking fee.  Sucky calipers!   ;D
