Title: J-Stick and T-Stick mounting dimensions...
Post by: Smack on June 08, 2003, 01:40:37 pm: I just ordered a pair of J-sticks to replace my T-Sticks. (I got a little tired of the feel of the T-Sticks.)

Are the mounting holes the same or does it look like I'm gonna have to re-drill some new panels? >:(

I just asked this question (hey you wanna ditch/trade/sell you t-sticks, btw?)... my understanding was that J-sticks had "normal" mounting holes (i.e. happs/wico/il whatever) but the t-stick didn't (according hyiu) (http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=7541;start=msg54378#msg54378) so I asked Andy for the dimensions of T-stick and he sent me this diagram (attached)

But it's in centimeters -> my intension was to convert it to inches and measure some generic joystick bases and see if they were a drop in replacement...

I know that doesn't really answer your question, smack... but I think this image is the keymaster and if we find the gatekeeper... we'll uh.. get zuul or gozer or something. =P

I wouldn't see why not *shrug* it's a pretty standard size (for joystick holes...) the worse case scenario I've heard of is (in general) to use a 1 1/4" hole... but i haven't come across that personally in my limited experience...

Post by: Ledbetter on June 08, 2003, 03:46:14 pm: The J-Stick has 2 sets of mounting holes. The outer holes fit the standard Wico/ Happs placement. It also has a set of inner oval holes that will line up with T-Stick dimensions.

Post by: Brad Lee on June 08, 2003, 05:24:01 pm: Yes, a 1-1/8" hole is fine for T-sticks, that's what I use. The palstic ring covers the hole entirely, and the shaft doesnt come into contact at all with the sides.
