Title: Can't find 7/8 light blue tmolding, should I use 1/16 plexi on CP?
Post by: Organic Jerk on July 31, 2008, 11:26:47 am
As the title suggests, I'm looking for light blue t-molding like this:
http://www.t-molding.com/store/product.php?productid=65&cat=9&page=1 (http://www.t-molding.com/store/product.php?productid=65&cat=9&page=1)

But at 7/8 for the CP (since the plexi is usuallt 1/8), which I can't seem to find.

Has anyone ever used 1/16 plexi for the CP?  Will it crack easier when drilling holes?  Would a difference of 1/16 between them mean a difference in durability?

Thanks

You could always route or sand the bottom edge of your cp, no one will ever know except you. ;D

yeah - put a 1/8" 45 degree bevel on the bottom and use 3/4" t-molding with your 1/8" plexiglass.  It will actually look better if you are using 3/4" t-molding on the sides and stuff because everything will appear to be a uniform width.

I dunno... I'm kinda scared to cut into the wood like that because I fear I will frack it up.

The safer bet without cutting would be to use 1/16 plexiglass so that both the sides and the cp use 13/16 tmolding, but then 1/16 might be too thin to be of any use....

ARRGH.

quarterarcade.com has 7/8 black.  Can't you go with the 5/8 blue instead?

I love your project, that cpo artwork is looking nice...
