i'd like to make a run for Twin Galaxies, I'm able to create a .INP using wolf mame, but how do I also make it generate a ".wlf" file ?
to record the .inp i created a .bat file with the following text:
"mame gunsmoke -record gunsmoke.inp"
file named as :: "gunsmoke-record.bat"
I double click it, it launches the game and records the .inp but not the .wlf
*Also How do I playback and view my .INP file that I created >? :dunno
-
When I recorded a game last night, it made both files. I was using the GUI version included in the Wolfmame 106 from TG.
You need both files for playback, to my knowledge.
command line for playback is
mame romname -pb inpname.inp (you might not even need the romname, just mame -pb inpname.inp)
-
can you give me the link to the gui version, that's probably what i need
-
At the bottom of this link.

With the GUI version, you just go to the file menu and select Playback recorded input or whatever and select your INP

MAME Plus doesnt seem to want to run.. all im getting is grey bars no game play or video playback.. with the command line version i was able to playback the .inp using: "mame gunsmoke -playback gunsmoke.inp" file saved as:
"gunsmoke-playback.bat" however I still am having trouble creating a .wlf file, and when i played back my file it didn't show when i hit "tab" in mame to show the correct settings for the game ?
-
I had the same video problem, and I kept messing with settings until it worked. I don't know why it was doing it, though. Nothing I'd ever seen before.

OK so still with the command line not sure if this is correct, but it did infact create the .wlf file by using this as a bat file:
mame gunsmoke -record gunsmoke.inp
mame gunsmoke -record gunsmoke.wlf
so I guess I have 1 last concern why when i play-back the .inp it does not show that I hit TAB in MAME to display that i'm using the correct settings? am i doing something wrong ?
-
Not TAB. Hit F2 to show the dipswitch setup (if present).

Not TAB. Hit F2 to show the dipswitch setup (if present).
hit F2, and again when playing back the file i still did not see anything showing my settings ? F2 just got me into the sound test settings for the game
OK, well now that i got MAME 106,(just for wlfmame of course) instead of 126.. which i don't know why/.. but i forgot how to change the video display in 106 its been a while, i'd like it to run in pixel aspect its very squeezed right now also auto rotate the screen because I have my LCD on a rotating arm

I think you can also try the ZERO key. (Check in the MAME tab settings)
I just noticed how similar our avatars are. Scrolling down to find my posts is a ---smurfette---. ;D

Yeah i noticed that about our avatars also.. and im still struggling to get this working

maybe tonight I can compare my mame.ini to the original and figure out what I changed to get it working...
-
This isn't the mame I play with, so it's only setup to playback INP files I download. Compare it to yours and see what video options are different.

that was from my MAME 125 and i'm still trying to utilize it with MAME 106, it autorotates.. the controlls feel different during game play and I still can't get it to display 7:8 for vert games
