Title: Pole Positon Problem - Troubleshoot this for me!

My local CL has a Pole Position listed at a pretty good price.  The game is described as being in good condition with one problem... The cars "show as squares"

What are the possible fixes for this?  If it is something as simple as re-seating the roms or some other quick and easy fix  I might pick this up.  If, however, some of you more seasoned guys think it could be something more difficult (or expensive) to fix, I'll probably pass.

It could only get as expensive as whatever a set of working boards costs.  ;)
