Title: KLAX arcade console (flyback)...is replacing the monitor and chassis feasible?
Post by: SnotRockit on July 29, 2008, 12:06:50 pm
Hello. I posted an article a while ago...

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=73884.0

...regarding my KLAX arcade console's monitor (flyback) blowing. I got a tremendous amount of help (thank you to everyone who provied info.).

Anyways, I've gotten to the point where I realize that finding a replacement flyback is impossible. I am therefore looking at replacing the entire monitor and chassis...

However, it was mentioned in the previous topic that I would need to measure the yoke impedance to be sure which (chassis) to get. My question is that if I get the new monitor with the chassis, then do I even need to know what the yoke impedance is? (ie. since the new monitor and chassis match, then would the game only have to send the data?). Or does the game send the "yoke impedance" info?

As you can see from my questions, this is all "greek" to me. I guess to keep it simple, I'm just trying to determine before I order it, whether or not the 19" monitor w/ frame and chassis (link listed above) would work with my KLAX game...and what info. about the chassis/monitor (eg. yoke impedance level?)I'd have to find out from the dealer to confirm it's compatibility.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

P.S.  I wasn't sure whether to place this article in "Restoration" instead of here, so I just placed it in the same place as my previous ones. If I made a mistake, my apologies...and feel free to move it to "Restoration".

That one should work fine.
You don't have to worry with yoke impedance stuff if you buy the complete monitor.
