Aside from console emulators, the games you named have arcade versions in MAME called VS Super Mario Bros, VS Duck Hunt, etc. Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo also have arcade versions.

thx for your help youki - will have a look later - in work at the mo.
hi victim - i know what your talking about but everytime i try to download them of romnation it says they are protected by is it esu or something like that - any ideas???
-
There are torrent sites out there that let you download the entire MAME romsets for the current version (over 16 gigs), but I can't give you any more info than that. (Rules of the site. Just search google)
-
are those torrent sites a pain in the arse to work - i want the simplest way. i dont mind spending time downloading stuff. not a wizz kid on these and dont wanna b!!!!
-
Pain? Not even close.
Download a torrent program, like the super simple Bittornado (there are better ones, but this is simplest), install that, then search for a torrent site that has what you want. Download the torrent file and double-click it. Tell it where you wish to save the files, then let it run. If you find the site most of us use (again, I can't tell you), you'll have a nice fast download, even for a 16-17 GB download.
Once it's complete, let it keep running so that you're giving back to the community. You'll be uploading at this point and making the files available to others with minimal effort. Try to let it reach at least a 1.0 ratio.

Then you've come to the wrong place.
We are very welcoming to n00bs and enjoy helping, but with your attitude, you won't get far around here.
-
you misunderstand me matey - i dont have an attitude - its how your taking what im saying completely the wrong way but i cant help that - its your opinion and your entitled to it.
im only looking for direction to what your telling me. not smart arsed comments like adjusting my attitude!!
sorry for offending you but chill out - im not looking to piss you off just some help so propably best if you dont give any more thank you
-
I thought my comments came across calm and cool. I only said that your attitude of being too lazy to do anything yourself and wanting something that's against the rules (even hints) was hindering you.
No offense taken here.
You're just barking up the wrong tree with your questions on this site.
I guess it's my fault for mentioning it in the first place....

i barely know how to use a pc - all the techy stuff escapes me.
ok then - could you recomend a site that could help please?
-
I agree with Ginsu here. If you are too lazy to even attempt to figure this out on your own first, then you have come to the wrong place. There is a big difference between a noob who does his homework and one that is just apathetic and wants everything spoon fed. The info you seek is so easily available through a simple google search it isn't funny.
If youa re serious about Sega and Nintendo emulation I can assure you I've put just about any EMU out there through the ringer. IMO the best SNES emu is ZSNES, for NES try Nestopia and for Sega you want Kega Fusion. Use the documentation that comes with each to figure out where to put files and change settings. One of the best parts about this hobby is experimenting with each program. So instead of demanding we spoon feed you, why not have some fun and mess around with these programs?
-
ok this is getting ridiculous - demanding something is standing beside u with a gun to your head!!! that aint happening here - i understand wot you are all saying - downloading is easy as you say but its were everything goes that im stuck on
im using mame32 with no props - download the game and my laptop puts it into the rom file - couldnt be easier.
its the nes stuff im stuck on thats all. i have the nes emulator but there is no rom folder??

You barely know how to use a PC, and "all the techy stuff escapes" you, yet you're finishing up a MAME cab?
This does not compute.

Make a folder and in settings for the emu tell it where the roms are located.

Well we have very different definitions of demanding then. My wife can be demanding, but she doesn't need a gun.
Each emulator looks for roms or game files in a certain directory. If there is a default directory it will most likely already be created and called roms (or something similar). If it is created by default it would be found in the folder that the application is in itself. Just like MAME. However, some emulators don't have a default location and you have to point the program to where your files are and usually create the roms folder yourself. Even if this is the case I always put them in a folder in the same directory as the program using them. That way I'm not mixing or confusing different rom sets. Sounds like you need to do this.
