Hi,
I thought I'd post my restoration for everyone to see..
the story:
This pac-man was in pretty bad shape when I first received him, water damage, wood separating, dust (like I've never seen) and more!
I knew in my heart I wanted to revive him in some way, so I handed over a considerable amount of cash and loaded him in my van. At the time I probably paid over 200 bucks for a cabinet that was ready to croak, but I knew that the level of satisfaction would outweigh the initial cost!
His insides were pretty much gone for so I decided to make it a 60-in-1. I would have loved to keep the inside electronics stock, but the thought of having other games available is pretty neat and super cool. I can remember heading to the arcade (circa 95) and playing what are today considered the classics..drool.
Certain factors are unfortunate, like the fact that there are no files of the artwork on hand. I'd KILL to have the original stencil set for Pac, none of that cheap crap you see two-bit's producing (at a horrific markup)..someday. Till then he'll be naked :-o
the coin doors and all metal parts have also been re-powder coated by someone on the klov forums...Fibonacci. Does quality work at an affordable price.

most of my photos were lost, but I managed to save a few that I had backed up a few weeks ago (Still hurts though)

Nice work, mine (serial 3389) wasn't in as bad as shape as yours, but the result looks pretty much the same - mine is a 24-1 Multipac though. My Galaga has a 48-in-1 so I definitely get what you are saying... I have since put the front art on mine (twobits) but haven't taken any pics.

60-in-1 ? How are you playing trackball games? What about the ones that need 1, 2 buttons ??
-
Oh man, you gotta get me some shots of your two-bits art. I'm dying to see what it looks like!
I'm going to hold off because I know in years to come someone will create vectors of the side artwork...tempting though.
btw, your cabinet looks sick!!! it's mine's doppleganger. ha.
also, rotheblog.com was looking for shots of two bits art. I believe he was going to do a comparison of the original v. twobit. \
I've learned quite a bit from that site..
As for trackball games...nope :(
Will be using player 1 and 2 as fire buttons
I think arkanoid is the only 3 button game, and I'm told you only need 3 to access the menu?
anyways, arkanoid isn't that big on my list so I'm not too bummed.
I'm content with the bare essentials.

Your PAC-MAN looks great!
My PAC-MAN had been converted to a JR. PAC-MAN, Then a TIGER HELI.
When i bought it, the whole machine was covered in WOOD GRAIN wallpaper stuff.
I peeled all that off, Then it had a big JR. PAC-MAN sticker under that !
But on the good side? All the original artwork underneath.
Had been preserved! Just needed a little touch up here and there.
Here's a couple of pics of mine.
Again! Great job ! :applaud:

Regretfully it's not my Pac....it's Darthnuno's....
Your Pacs look lovely !
-
Oh?
Well.... Darthnuno :notworthy:

I'm a moron....F*CK
just blew up my new 60-in-1 board by installing the atx molex connector backwards!! I thought I double checked the connection, but I guess it was wrong. Stupid error on my part that will NEVER happen again.
well...now I'll have to page Wu on klov and get another one. damnit.
My heart rate jumped right after. I was on the brink of puking. damn..
I noticed the pinout of the jamma connector now looks a little funky (small sparks over there). Two of the pins are slightly charred, but look as if they would still send the needed power. Should I just buy another connector just to be safe?
In the future I'm most likely going to ask for someone to look over my connections. Buddy system, it's best to have someone with brains check you over.
