I've ended up with about 3 of these vaccum-flourescent display things from varied site removals,
Noritake itron is the brand name.
It uses a 9-pin serial type connector, in its original form, for connecting to point-of-sale computers..

The company has http://www.fujitsu.com/us/services/retailing/support/drivers/opos/ (http://www.fujitsu.com/us/services/retailing/support/drivers/opos/) software drivers and specs,
It uses a 'industry standard' OPOS protocol.
Ideas?
