Title: Progress report and of course another question
Post by: TheGameAh on June 07, 2003, 08:30:17 pm
Well I gutted my old X-Arcade and transfered it to another panel.  It wasn't too bad overall.  I marked and removed the microswitches and removed the button and joysticks (the x-arcade joysticks are an absolute pain in the hind quarters).  The drill job on the new panel turned out decent for the most part.  The second player top row buttons aren't lined up perfectly cause my clamp must have farted or something and the x-arcade template slipped, but besides that, no problem.

My question is simple.  I just used a spade bit to drill the holes since I was drilling through an x-arcade.  Could I use a spade bit to drill through the mdf panel if I wasnt' drilling through existing x-arcade holes?  Or would the bit slip too much?

It should be fine. I used a spade bit on my first control panel which was mdf.  Just press it into the center of where the hole will be.
