Title: Verify launching of game in MameWah...
Post by: mikeveli20 on July 27, 2008, 01:16:19 am
In Mamewah (latest version), is it possible to have to press a button twice to launch a game. Meaning you press the launch game button once and a screen comes up that says something like "Are you sure you want to launch GAMENAME?" or "This game uses a lightgun, Press 1 to Launch, 2 to Cancel".

In short, no. You might be able to make a batch file to do it or make a small seperate app tho.

The nearest you can do is press 2 buttons simultaneously to launch a game (edit mamewah.cfg).

Yeah, but that's not even close to what he wants. I can see his need for this, but not enough of a majority need for this option to be added.

So what exactly does the "Prompt" part do for a message box? I was in the Layout Editor and noticed that there's a prompt option in the message box, which at first would lead me to assume it accepts some sort of user prompt.

That is just where the 'press any button' or similar messages go. This is not used on launching a game tho (I would think this would be more of an annoyance than anything?).

I think it would be an annoyance if you were forced to have it for every game. But if there were an option to have it for only specific games that have certain instructions (ie. there is a bug in this game at such and such a point) would be cool.
