O.K, updated my MAME 32 last nite, and something weird happened, some games are working better which is great...BUT some games like the Metal Slug games do not show up now in the "available" games list like it use to on the old mame version I was using. I can still play them by going to the "All" games menu and loading the rom that way. When I do an internal audit of the roms for the metal slug games it says they are corrupt or missing a file, but they have worked perfectly up until i updated to 0.69 mame 32....and like i said i loaded the metal slug roms and they still work perfectly, but I have to go to the "all" games menu to play them, how can I get the metal slug games to show up in "available" games....
any help would be greatly appreciated
cheers

At first when I read your post I thought perhaps the rom for Metal Slug had been changed between versions 0.66 and 0.69 but I checked and that rom has been valid since 0.59, so the only thing I can suggest is downloading the rom again and see how you go.

Not how I read it. mame.dk shows new roms for neogeo at .68 and .69. Get the latest and it will run OK.

Edit:
Should have been more clear. neogeo.zip is the only rom that was changed for .68 and .69

The bios file was updated, mslug.zip is the same. You only need neogeo.zip.

Ok, I have the neo geo zip file, Was this Neogeo.zip file updated for the newer versions of mame?
Do I need to download a newer version of this neogeo.zip file, because the neogeo zip i have in my roms directory is about 10-11mths old.

Yes it has been updated for the last 2 versions.
