Hey all, having a hard time finding some older VGA computer monitors that are at least 25" or 27" locally. Was wondering if anyone had some they want to get rid of. Will pay immediatly. I've hit craigslist pretty hard, I dont think there is a city I havent looked and Im kinda burned out looking on there all the time.
Thanks,
Spaced Ace

good luck, I've been bumping a topic asking the exact same thing for a few weeks now

Broaden your search to include "Presentation" monitors.
I've picked up 2 loacally from craigslist:
A 29" for free and a 36" for peanuts.
They have normal A/V hookups (great for throwing a console into the mix) plus a VGA input as well.
Good luck.

Man when I type in presentation all I get in my results are cars.

I feel your pain.
I happened upon both of the ones I found by accident (i.e. wasn't looking for monitors at the time).
I originally planned on making a sit down driving cab (Mame/PS2) with the 29" one, but have had little progress on it :)

Here is what I dont understand. I purchesed a nice Gateway Destination 35" for $50 from a guy locally. I found it on craigslist within a few hours of its posting. Now why is it I chanced up a nice find on a 35" but for the life of me get a 25"?
Shipping for a monitor is a straight $300.00 average via UPS & Fedex. Its just crazy how much it costs to ship something. ???
Im just going to leave out the monitor and play by sound!

due to the fcc changing rules on tvs produced 25s were not produced after a certain date. If you want a monitor about that size that isn't 20 years old look for 29s. They usually have a footprint (after a bit of cutting) of about 25" wide. I have found tons. I am actually sitting on 4 right now, one of which should be sold once I head back home.
Good search terms on craigslist
Monitor
Large monitor
Presentation ( in the electronics or computers section)
Large VGA
TV Vga
Tv BNC
Megaview
PVM
multisync
multiscan

My information may be vague, but details are not always my specialty.

Thanks, but Im just going to buy a 27" Model D9800 Digitally Controlled Monitor. Just make things more simpler I guess...

EEEEHHHhhhh I would steer clear of WG monitors if you can. If you really want a good Digital multisync then I would go for either a billabs or makivision. If you need further convincing then I would recommend going over to the monitor thread and perusing the "Wells Gardner Sticky".
