Title: Cannot Refresh Gamelists in Mala; No Gamelists Visible (Solved)

I just finished setting-up Mala with all of the emulators and gamelists (made with RomDir2XML and Romlister) I wish to use, but none of the game lists are showing in the layout when it is run.  I receive no errors, but cannot choose the right-click options to refresh or select game lists, as the first 5 options in the drop-down menu are greyed-out.  Is there a setting I mistakenly changed?

The only time I have seen this is when there is no Mame.xml or the rom path is no set. Check that

also

Are you using a mame version >.89?

I a later version of MaLa gamelist I plan to add a extra window to show what is linked to the gamelist and give you a chance to over-ride diffrent sections on a game per game basis. Eg
- MameVersion
- Number of buttons lit (for Led-Wiz etc)
ect

Mame.xml exists, and was created by MaLa.  The rom paths are all set (and are correct).  Also, this problem is not exclusive to the mame gamelist.  None of my console gamelists show either (and the layout reports 0 games for each of them, though the options menu reports the actual number).  I am using the newest version of mame (.126 I believe).  Any other ideas?  If necessary, I could just wipe the MaLa directory and start over...  :dunno


EDIT: I tried starting from scratch, re-setting all the settings anew; I still have the same problem.  Is there a certain dependency of MaLa that I may be missing (as I am using an NLited copy of XP)?

I found the problem while fiddling after checking this other tread. (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=82393.0)

This is definitely a problem with MaLa tree.  The right click options will become visible if I uncheck "Use tree" in the "GUI" tab of the options menu.  Then, in the standard layout, I can refresh my gamelists.  Problem is, when I re-check the box, everything reverts back (to no gamelists and greyed-out right click options).  This behavior is the same for both MaLa and MaLa beta; likewise with MaLa tree and MaLa tree beta.

Is there any way to fix this?

This is probably stating the obvious, but you have assigned gamelists to the gamelist items in the tree in mala tree editor yeah?

From memory, I created gamelists with the gamelist editor, added them in mala, then assigned them to the applicable nodes in the tree editor.
