Title: Button feel hori vs sanwa
Post by: huygens on July 15, 2008, 05:27:53 pm
First post!

I'm in the planning stages of building a control panel. I'm trying to decide on what buttons to use. I have a Namco Playstation controller (grey with yellow buttons) that uses Hori buttons. are these similar in feel to Sanwa buttons? I'm on a budget and if they're similar I don't need to buy sample Sanwas.

On a similar note, I'm thinking of making the panel modular. Is it worthwile having different types of buttons for different styles of games? For example a general purpose leaf-switch panel and a Sanwa panel for fighters?

Don't trash one of the namco sticks to build a new control panel!  Sanwa buttons aren't that expensive.  The sanwas will be similar, but significantly better.

But that namco sticks are still awesome

I have two of those namco sticks I got on special way back in the ps1 days.

I got both of them for 60% off!

They have never skipped a beat and I have been playing ps1/ps2/pc(arcade emulation) games since.

They were my inspiration for building a cab.

It is a lovely stick. I found it at a thriftshop for $7. That was a very good day  ;D

Don't worry Kajoq, The stick is safe . I just wanted to get an idea of the feel of Sanwas before I bought a set. Thanks for the info :-) Any suggestions of where to get the buttons? So far I'm leaning toward akihabarashop or lizardlick.
