I am kinda cramming to get as much done on my cab as possible before next weekend. My niece and nephew are coming to visit for a week, and I want to put this thing through it's paces.
What joysticks do the neo geo cabs use? I would like to use the originals if I can; I might already have them. :D
What neo geo games are worth playing? I have neo geo button panels for my cab, and I would like to get as much use out of them as possible. I like the metal slugs and bust a move, but I don't know any of the others.
Thanks for the help,
Paul

ummm... http://www.neo-geo.com/ ?
as for games, my nephews like the King Of Fighters series and really like the shock trooper game. I dont have the cart for it (Im lookin for it) but I do play WindJammers on MAME on occasion. if you click the neo geo restore link in my siggie it has a list of all the carts I have that I like to play.
As for the original neogeo sticks..... no idea. The ones on both of my dedicated NeoGeo cabs dont match so I dont know which is the original or if maybe 2 slot and 4 slot cabs came with different sticks (I doubt it)

I'm pretty sure the neo geo cabs used supers or competitions or similar. The japanese cabs used seimetsu or sanwa parts.
If you like fighting games there are some great series like the Samurai Shodowns, last blades, and Fatal Furys.
There are some great shooters and such as well.
Try the sengoku games, blazing star, pustar, aerofighters 2 and 3.

My kids dig SpinMaster and BluesJourney.

I have competition stick in my cab and they feel very comfortable. The guys above mentioned some of the better Neo games around, however Magical Drop, the Metal Slug series, Waku Waku 7, and Bust A Move are all excellent games too. Oh and Samurai Showdown as well :-D.

I picked up an original Neo Geo mini and it appears to have Happ Comps in it. I'll pop the panel and take a look for you. I have so many projects going, I just pulled the dead monitor and parked the cab in the corner of the garage.
I'd recommend Neo Mr. Do! Its basically just a horizontal version of the original, but has nice graphics and catchy music.

Money Puzzle Exchanger
King of Fighters 2002(Best year, IMHO)
Pulstar
Shock Troopers
Metal Slug (All)
Pochi & Nyaa
Alpha Mission II
Puzzle Bobble
Sengoku 3
Matrimelee
Oh, BTW, NEO-GEOs shipped with a WICO brand joystick(I think) that's identical to the HAPP Super, but with a metal shaft instead of a black plastic shaft.
