Hey,
Well I have run out of ideas... I have a yahoo surround sound unit model YHT-400 and well i dropped a weight on the remote so it broke....do you think I can find a replacement or a universal that will work? nope.
I have tried contacting yahoo who advised they no longer carry it.. I contacted the company diamond who made their stereo stuff and they never got back to me........
I have tried ebay, craiglist, and my local walmart where I bought it... also I have contacted several of those replacement remote online stores..all negative...
problem is you need the remote to play mp3s, change system settings etc...if anyone can advise where I can find a replacement or universal that will work let me know.. I would greatly appreciate it. I have looked at the programable ones like the logitec however they are too expensive.... the unit I have wasnt very much...
thx
Jim

Look into buying a harmony remote made by logitech.. it has usb input, the website will let you pull from drop downs on what company/ model remote it is. Also works great for controlling everything! logitech.com

Did you try getting the remote fixed? If you were able to get it working, even if the casing is all messed up, you can get a "learning remote" and have it capture all of the IR signals and replacate them so you can get it all working. Logitec is one maker but there are many others. A remote is a simple device, so someone adept with a soldering iron could probably patch the traces for you to get it all going for a short time.

Hey
I did look into the logitech ones already however they are too pricey for what I need...the system is in my gym.
the remote was wrecked I dropped a 45lb weight on it. I did get the special code of the remote sent to various online suppliers however no one seems to have the matching remote...
old remote is intrash as it was destroyed.
