I was able to run DK and generate the master list. The app opens and runs just fine, but it can't find any of my roms. The mame .cfg and .dirs directories are set up properly but when launched the front end cycles between "Newest MAME games" and "Zero Roms found for this list". Is "Newest MAME games" a custom list that I have to set up myself? If so, how do I switch to a list of all available games? I really like the way this FE is setup. It has a lot of the functionality of Emulaxian w/out the complicated configuration. I hope I can get it working.

Did you follow the onscreen instructions? They ask you to update your catver.ini. If you press yes then it launches internet explorer and pulls up the file. You then extract it to your "list generator\catvers\" folder as instructed in the prompt. If you do not do this then there isn't a catver installed to check what version the game comes from and thus the "new" list is empty. Btw did you even look at the control constants in the online docs? Press "x" to go to the next list, which is mame :)
Also read the documentation regarding searchstrings... that should answer all your questions... same rules apply for dk as did for lazarus. :)

Thanks HC, I didn't realize the online docs were available yet. I'll take a look.

Ok, I got it working. It seems pretty cool, but I'm going to stay with Emulaxian since I've got it set up just the way I like. I have to give you tons of respect for your skinner application though; that thing is very nicely implemented.

I agree I really like the new skinner straightforward and easy to use! I think this might be the one that a lot more people actually are going to make their own skins :D
(mine indeed needs some work as it is not ver intuitive now as hc has kindly pointed out to me himself...hehe ;) )
