BYOAC Brothers!!!
I call on all of you to please help me with a Null DC issue. i have posted the same comment on the nullDC forums and have gotten nothing as of yet. Please help me get my dreams of a working dreamcast emulator in my cab!!!
i am having issues when trying to run Street fighter 3 cdi on nulldc. After the initial dreamcast logo when the .cdi file begins to load i am brought to a grey blank screen. I know the cdi is good because both nulldc and SF3 loaded perfectly on it on my old pc.(i copied the files straight from my old pc to my arcade.
here is the setup that i am running. if someone could help me i would really appreciated
OS: Windows XP Pro
Processor: Athlon 3200+
Video: NVidia GeForce MX 4000
Memory: 1 gig
Null DC Version: nullDC 1.0.0 BETA 1.6
my own opinion which does not count.
Nothing is wrong with the .cdi files or the emulator. if i try to boot nulldc without loading a .cdi file i can get into the dreamcast menu (files, play etc) with no problem. the blank screen only happens once i load a game. I have a 2nd pc and i can run nullDC games just fine on that pc. (and it is just using generic on board video) so i honestly dont think it is my graphics card. Any help anyone can give would be very much appreciated because this problem is driving me crazy.
Finally is their any software i can use to map keys to my keyboard.
Thx,
Jedi

Actually, I would think it might be your video card ...... but I am not sure. If it is easy for you to switch it out then it might be worth it.

my only argument against a new video card would be that on my regular pc i am able to run null dc perfectly and all that PC has is Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family and it works beautifully with its onboard video. i had this issue on that PC and all i had to do is install direct x 9c to get null dc to work. Sadly that did not work when installing it on my cab.

GeForce MX 4000 is only capable up to DX8.1, I think. :dunno

The MX 4000 is not compatible with Null DC, No pixel shaders if I recall correctly...

Yep, null DC dosent require a fast GPU, but it require pixel shaders v2.X.
Mx4000 doesn't support any pixel shaders, not even Direct 8.X effect at all, it just a DirectX 7 graphicscard:

Mx4 series have generally have been criticised as well.
Your Intel graphics support Direct9 with pixel shades version 2.0, so it work fine for null DC.

thanks for the help, umm... what type of graphics card would anyone recommend that is a reasonable price.

You didden't write whick graphics port you have. I guess its AGP?
Then you can get a 6200 graphicscard which should been a very low price. There exists a 7XXX graphicscard for AGP as well which is the newest from NVidia for that port.
From ATI, you can look on Radeon HD 2400 and 2600 which is really new for budget market.
