What games require these?
-
Visual Pinball .. they work quite nice actually.
-
Flippers for one game? Wow
-
There's an insane pinball emulator... Er, prolly more like a simulator I guess.
-
This may help: http://www.randydavis.com/vp/
-
i see. now whats the legalities of simulated tables?
-

That's kind of like saying you use a control panel for MAME
Wow a control panel for one game. ;D
-
I know. I made a bad assumtion. we all know what happens when you assume.
-
or for the pinball games on mame, nothing beats the ol' nintendo pinball...
-
i see. now whats the legalities of simulated tables?
what's the legality of mame? ::)....i hope this drops before it gets started...
the real question is.... will it matter? ;)
-
I really like Roswell Pinball for the PC... ;)
-
Has anyone got buttons like that working w/ the old Epic Pinball games? I can't remember if you could reconfigure the controls for those titles...
-
Well there is pinmame ! :)
Download all the roms for it and have fun...I have flipers button because everyone has..LOL.
I dont even play pinball games.. :P
-

don't forget about the propinball series from empire. i have timeshock and i play it all the time. great game.
-
Don't ever put these pinball-buttons on the side! :o
I had, and now I desire to get a real pinball - this'll get expensive again...
-
ahhhh... to own a pinbot or kiss table...I've priced them and yes they are expensive...but i so have to have one
-
To my knowledge, a lot of pinball machine distributers distribute the roms on their web site. I'm not an arcade manager, so it's hard for me to know exactly, but it's common practice to burn differnt roms (the physical kind, not rh0mz) and slop them onto the board. Maby out of damage, or bug revisions.
Having copys of the artwork and machine layout are a differnt matter, I suppose- the one we're trying to avoid :P

Don't forget the best pc pinball sim ever, Pro Pinball Big Race. And Pro Pinball Fantastic Journey. And M$ Pinball Arcade.

propinball was an awful series...

Anyone ever play the HUGE pinball game with the que ball?? I think it was called Hercules. Sorry can spell the name. I played it a few times back in the day. It took up to much room so they got rid of it.
Btw, I was thinking about adding a plunger shooter to my cp. It wouldnt be hard. In Theory anyway. I pull back, and the button is pressed, I release and the ball shoots. Would take some modification however...
Something like this:
|
__|
__|B|P__
B = Button
P = Plunger
Just add a piece of something the the plunger so when you pull back it presses the button. A small box would have to be contructed to hold the button so you dont have the rear end of the button sticking out the front of your cp. Anyone with metal working skills could build this easily. A metal box that can be screwed in:
___ < Metal Plate to press down on button.
_ _ |
_| ^ |_|_
| ^ Plunger hole.
|
Button Hole.
Heh, sorry. It all just came to me. Had to write it down somewhere! :D

In my opinon unless you're a pinball nut, theres no "need" for flipper buttons on a mame cpanel. Its like building a 8 button per player contol panel to play invaders or gyruss, it just becomes an overkill.
I must admit though, I think it would be really cool to play vpinball with flippers and a real pinball plunger. It comes down to personal preference. ;)

Ive seen a MAME cabinet with a pinball plunger and up the back they setup a microswith wired to "normally open", that way when you pull back the plunger it simulates the actions of the real pinball machines.

How can you say that? The physics are greats, the attention to detail is great.
