I will be testing the new beta release out tonight.  I think this bug fix was a much anticipated fix for many on this board.  Now just to get the keyhook working, .  Good job....

Just wanted to say great work there loadman, it's very impressive how many bugs you've already squashed in such a short period since taking over the source. I for one understand how hard it can be learning someone elses code especially a project so large and thats even without parts in German!

Thanks,

Appreciate your help very much too  :notworthy:

Sie ihr voll und ganz rock dude  :P

I am getting used to navigating the German IDE now.  It's just the system error messages for me (and sometimes for users) that are a pain for a dummy like me to translate sometimes.  ;)

Wow I see you emailed me Spanish versions of an older MaLa version.

That must have been a lot of work. Did you use a machine code editor or something.

Anyway I had a look and Delphi 2007 does have language options. . It looks a lot less work.  We could have German and French too maybe.Anyway looking into it now, as I don't know how to use it yet.

The program menus translate with resource editor "Lingobit Localizer". For the parts of machine code (error messages, log messages) I used UltraEdit32. That have been a lot of work.

can mala be use with touchscreens?

Well almost anything can be used with a touchscreen as it just emulates a mouse to some degree.

The issue is having an appropriate controls/layout for you fat fingers.

The only thing I can think of is you could possibly load ' MaLa messages' with bigger buttons and put that on a second screen perhaps? see attached

Mainly what I want is like 3 rows of 4 boxes, with tabs at the top for categories/favorites.  It would need to have pages to scroll though.  The boxes would show either a snap shot or video of the game.  Touch the box and it launches the game.  This has to be all controlled from a touch screen.  The initial setup will be done with a keyboard.  I wasn't sure if Mala can do this?  I use MaLa for my cocktail table and it works great, you helped me a lot to get that set up right.  Can it do this?

It's Just a beta of the mala.exe.

So just swap the two and/or relabel the old mala.exe. You can always swap back if you want

No need to change any ini files, nothing changed there.

Let us know how you go

Will do! One think i forgot to mention ages ago and has been the same since 1.4 version, for some reason AVG anti-virus pops up everytime i run Mala, with Malakeyhook.dll being a potentially harmful program Logger.BX, any ideas??

Yeah its all cool.

There is a note about it on the right of this page:
http://malafe.net/index.php?page=download (http://malafe.net/index.php?page=download)

If you don't need it then just delete the file. MaLa runs fine without it.

I am not quite sure... (I am work)

Something to do with making sure when emulators shut down MaLa takes over but I think it's only relevant for 98/ME users.  Someone please correct me as I am a bit ignorant of that section at the moment.

Loadman thanks for your hard work.

Now let me give some testing feedback:

Ledblinky does not show the controls lighted up in the beta. When i switch to the previos version it works. So i dunno if it is ledblinky or Mala that needs to be changed for this.

Small issue the links on the hardwarepage are old?

LedBlinky: I didn't touch any code that deals with the plug-ins at all so that has me stumped. ? When you say it does not work do you mean it does not show up in the mala plug-in list or just that certain functionality does not work?  :dunno  More information please.

Thanks for the Hardware link tip  :-)  ;)

Glad i can help in some way ;)

The blinky plugin works partially.

I shows the mala lights but when i scroll trough a game it does not lightup the controls. And when i start a game it does not play the startup sequence or light the controls for the game.

Wait i just have a brainwave: could it be that ledblinky needs the mala.exe to be this name instead of mala_beta.exe ? (cannot test it yet as i am not home ;))

Twin-X,
I justed tested LEDBlinky with the MaLa beta and it seems to work fine for me (I'm the LEDBlinky author). Could you turn on the LEDBlinky debug log (on the config Misc Options tab) with Verbose checked, then start MaLa and do some stuff (scroll, start game, quit). Then email me the debug.log file in the LEDBlinky folder.

Thanks,
arzoo

I just tried this and the following issues (none critical) still exist:

- 'show splashscreen' unchecked, MaLa splashscreen stills shows at start

- 'show task bar' checked, but doesn't show.

I re-checked/unchecked them again and back the other way and restarted but no change.

Hello Arzoo,

I know you are the creator ;) thanks for this brilliant application!.
Anyway it works now in the beta and it did not with the old mala. After a reboot both worked.
Wierd. If i experience it again i will post the log.

Jeffry

The taskbar wont show but will be there if you do a alt-tab. Yes?

Christ, I'm such a bonehead. I read the 'disable splash screen' as....I don't know...but I was thinking checking it didn't disable it. Sheesh. Okay, that always worked. Onward - yes, alt-tab works, but it brings up a different kind of task bar. I thought it would reveal or display the Windows task bar. Hmmmm.

Thank you for your assistance.
