Not any different than model rocketry. No, not paper tube glue together model rockets from Estes.... hobbyists in the US and abroad constructing low altitude rockets out of aluminum and whatever else. Solid propellant is easiest to construct, but there are quite a few that have constructed liquid propelled rockets.
Of course the Patriot Act II has made model rocketry more difficult. I've heard mentioned that even the crappy paper tube rockets may need a license to operate ???

Oh great! Next they will take away our joysticks accusing us of useing them to GUIDE that cruise missle lol.
Quick, somebody warn happs to start stockpileing a secret stash for us joystick addicts. hehehe.

Just so everybody knows Scud missiles...you know, those crappy ancient innaccurate things Saddam Hussein is so fond of...cost between 7 and 10 million dollars a piece. Where is this guy getting his money?

A basic jet engine is relatively easy and inexpensive to make. It's essentially nothing more than a giant blow torch. It's the guidance stuff that's difficult and expensive.

I think you are speaking of a basic rocket engine. A jet turbine, while a simple concept, is anything but simple to make ;)

Saying that anyone can build a $5000 cruise missle is slightly stretching the point. Look at this guys site. He's a freaking genius. Not to mention a marketing wizard. He'll get worldwide FREE promotion for his endeavors. It's brilliant on many levels. Bravo.
I still wish I could build one of those things..... Blow up a neighbor or 2's car with a missle and you'd get a little respect in the neighborhood. ;D

Nope, not talking about solid fuel rocket engines. Jet engines are simple in concept, easier than an internal combustion to put together. A good, high efficiencey engine is difficult and complicated, but the basic is... basic.

i saw that guy on the news.(im in New Zealand).
I think he uses simple gps technology u can get anywhere.
Hes for real.He will probably use it to round up all the sheep we have as our sheepdogs get very tired running up all our hills.
