Title: mame video settings

i cant seem to get mame to display full screen with hardware stretching off on my monitor im using soft15hz with hardware streeching off and resoluttion set to auto the imagine is still about 3 or 4 inches too small and looks blocky as hell with hardware streching on its full and looks way better. but why cant i get full screen with hardware streching off?

Make sure you have the -switchres setting set to 1 (or check 'switch resolutions to fit').  Also try manually setting the resolution and see if that helps.

In these cases, it's helpful to give you specific ini settings and type of monitor used.
